Celebrating Children

We celebrated the special occasion dedicated to the children marking the National Children’s Day in Nepal on the 14th of September. This day is celebrated to raise awareness of children’s education and rights. Our school also commemorated the day with different programs and entertaining performances with students.

A day marking childhood, where our full focus was children and their enjoyment. The day was planned with great enthusiasm and precision by our teachers. The school premises was filled with fun, energy, and laughter.

Our students from Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten joined in the event and were engrossed throughout the program.

They enjoyed the blindfolded hit-the-box game, balloon burst, and hanging chocolate games with teachers. The vibe in the game participation was one of passion and competitive spirit. The Fellowship

We welcomed two new members to our second batch fellowship program lately. The fellowship aims to create a sustainable learning environment for future generations.

Manish Raj Subedi

I am Manish Raj Subedi, a licensed civil Engineer. I graduated from VTU Karnataka completing my B.E in 4 years and completed my education (+2) from Itahari. My both parents are teachers currently working in Green Peace Education Foundation as administration charges.

I have been learning my whole life at my first school and then started an interest in reading books, helping my parents, and making music. Due to my interest in STEM, youtube has been my school for several years now. I love engineering, astrophysics, agriculture, quantum mechanics, etc. I taught myself

photo editing, graphic design, basic video editing, content writing, meditation, UI/UX design for the web, music production mixing, and mastering. Currently, I also take classes from EDX and several websites.

Talking about the first teaching experience, I got was when my dad asked me to help kids smaller than me in his tuition classes. I taught classes 1-8 when I was studying for grades 11 & 12. Other than that I have worked as a building designer and drafter according to the Nepal building code, I have worked as QA ENG, accountant as well as designer for a kitchen equipment manufacturing firm. In India, I worked on-site as a site engineer.

Despite guaranteed jobs in Australia and Canada, I wanted myself to work for my nation rather than for money in foreign. I loved the motto of YOUME school, being remote gave me a sense of achievement in connecting the village to the world. Working for YouMe allows me to inspire these kids to be problem solvers and critical thinkers. I can inspire them to be whatever they wish to become in the future and overall be creative people believing in themselves. Being an avid learner myself I desire to bring a long-term impact and meaningful change in education.

Sarita Thapa

I am Sarita Thapa from Dhulikhel 12, Kavre. I have always wanted to pursue my students and work simultaneously. So to continue with that I started working as a Computer and English teacher while I was doing my intermediate studies. I was also involved in different volunteer activities. I volunteered to teach for a month and I recently enrolled in the bachelor’s.

I have believed in sharing knowledge to make the world a better place and following my heart, I found something that I can fit perfectly into. The quest for better opportunities brought me to YouMe School. When I read about the struggle of the school and it emerged to become one of the finest schools in Khotang really got me. The transition from bamboo school to concrete building school was inspirational for me. Through this fellowship, I want to become an educator to make a difference and impact the lives of my students and vice-versa.

<YouMe School Biratnagar>

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams – Eleanor Roosevelt

A vision fortified by unceasing efforts and an exceptional team lays a solid foundation for any institution. With the mission of promoting global standard education excellence, our school continues to grow. More students means a greater demand for space. Our founder Sharad Chandra Rai visited the school last week. We will soon start working on the extension of the school building,  something that has been planned since the original construction of the school.

Father’s Day

They say, the power of a father in a child’s life is unmatched and our students in YouMe celebrated this year’s fathers day spectacularly. The children were really excited to have their parents with them. Our children had a special event planned for their parents as well. The event took off firstly by paying filial respects and gratitude to their daddies and also mummies who had come instead to participate in the celebration. They had handmade cards and prepared a box of sweets to treat their parents.

They expressed their love and feelings towards their fathers through a beautiful dance performance of a song dedicated to fathers. A game of “Know your Child” was organized for the parents. The game was to answer questions concerning their child’s favorite cartoons, foods, games, etc. The three parents who scored highest were even awarded.

The dynamic event concluded with the father’s feelings on the occasion. They appreciated the efforts of the school authorities for this unique idea of involving fathers and even mothers in such big celebrations. They said these types of events help them know their children better and also help them nurture their relationship with the children.

Asha Project

Asha, the hope, is a belief that things will get better and it’s a pertinent positivity in one’s life. Asha, the hope for education project was initiated to support needy students affected by the earthquake of 2015 in Nepal. Aayush came into the story in order to further his studies around the time of the earthquake. Asha was our dream project and our belief in every child’s right to education had come into reality through this project. Aayush was chosen out of many students as he was brought up by a single mother. His mother is the main breadwinner in the family thus far. His father hardly had any impact on Aayush’s life. He has one sibling. His family’s financial condition deteriorated drastically after the devastating earthquake that left indelible marks on people’s lives.

His mother has worked as a security guard and has been involved in multiple manual jobs for their livelihood. Aayush was chosen for the sponsorship because he was one of the most at risk of dropping out due to his family’s economic condition. He was identified through various processes of interviews involving parents, neighbors, and family members. After all that, Aayush and his mother signed an agreement knowing that he would try his best in school. And he even proved it and now he has started his higher studies journey with us.

He has been a very hardworking student and understands the importance of education. He is confident in his abilities to achieve big in his life.

Aayush explained his experience with the organization

  • How has this educational sponsorship changed your life?
  • I remember myself six years ago and sometimes I think to myself, if not for sponsorship where would I be now? I am grateful for the sponsorship, it has helped me throughout my educational journey so far and pushed me one step further toward my goals.
  • What are your future goals?
  • Firstly, after my graduation, I want to apply for a scholarship and study abroad. My dream country to pursue my study in Japan. Japanese culture and education system has always fascinated me. I hope to achieve my dream of getting my higher education in Japan soon.

I am forever thankful to YouMe Nepal for motivating me to keep moving forward and never stop dreaming. I hope YouMe will keep supporting children like me who is in need of support. Thank you
