Our Principal Short Visit to Kathmandu
Our Principal Mr. Dharani Prasad Subedi visited Kathmandu on the 20th of March Sunday. His trip to Kathmandu was on the plan for a very long time. Due to the covid pandemic, the trip kept postponing. Finally, amidst his busy schedule, he managed to spare some time for the official visit to Kathmandu.
During his stay, he visited several schools and meanwhile he also got a chance to visit the school where our founder Mr. Sharad Chandra Rai studied, The Budhanilkantha School. The school is located in Budhanilkantha Municipality itself and it is approximately 10 km away from the city center. Through these visits, Mr. Subedi got to see the modern techniques and cultures that Kathmandu’s schools have adopted in teaching. This included the varied technologies and methodologies other schools have initiated especially post lockdown. As he says, this visit allowed him to explore, see and experience the various dimensions of teaching and learning. Fostering inclusions and creating exceptional learning environments have always been our priorities in school. And this short and delightful visit gave him the opportunity to observe the diversity in the educational environment in different schools that could be learning to serve as a foundation for understanding the education systems differently.
During his trip, he took some time out for himself for refreshment. He got a glimpse of the city, its varied culture, and its beauty. He paid a visit to one of the most revered temples of Nepal, Pashupatinath Temple, also included in the World Heritage Site.
Every year, thousands of pilgrims visit Pashupatinath Temple from all over the world. He even captured a beautiful moment of monkeys when he was strolling around the temple. After a week long his official visit came to end.
An educational journey from volunteer to teacher – Rosy Shahi
Hello, I am Rosy Shahi from Kathmandu. I have completed my Masters in Anthropology. I am an avid animal lover. I would like to say that I am obsessed with dogs. I love to be surrounded by dogs and children as I believe they have the most beautiful and innocent souls. I love music and dance though I am a bathroom singer and non-dancer. I just enjoy the music and dance.
Getting involved in a service-oriented field has always been the best motivational factor for me, from the time I applied for YouMe Organization. I had a deep feeling of something extravagant and a feeling of attaining a new opportunity. Getting the first task of surveying the education system around Khotang was something I was looking forward to. My previous experience as a teacher in Kathmandu really encouraged me to move to Khotang. After I came here, I was very much fascinated by the students and the locality. My survey was made much easier due to the cooperation of my parents and the most amazing part was the hospitality I received from YouMe staff and people from Khotang. With the completion of the survey, I got an offer as a full-time teacher, never in my mind, did I have a question mark of rejecting this offer.
I have a thematic approach to my classes. I focus on every student’s reading style, pronunciation, their neatness and their assignments. I also focus on the interest of the children and try to make my class more friendly and interesting. I try to be a friend first so that they can express their feelings without any hesitation. And I always give a task to note down the new words they learn or hear any new words from teachers. Noting down can help them to revise if forgotten.
I am grateful for this opportunity and I strongly believe I was destined to be a part of YouMe School and a Proud Educator.
Working together for communal responsibility
The scarcity and shortage of water are long-term and existing problems of Khotang including Chhapdanda (where our school is situated) for years. People walk long distances to fetch water from different places and water resources.
The initiation of the Large Scale Pumping Water project was supposed to bring relief to the continuing crisis though it kept getting delayed for various reasons. Eventually, the wait is over and with the launch of this project it will give water supply to the houses in the village.
For this project, all the villagers worked together to make the pathway to lay the pipelines. Our teachers from YouMe School, Khotang also showed their participation and worked together for this social responsibility. They gave up on their Saturday holiday just for this cause. Kudos to their hard work.
The Year’s Final Examination
The students from Grade Nursery to Grade 7 are attending the final examination for this academic year. The exam started on the 17th of April and will continue until the 24th of April. We are eager to welcome the new academic session with the students passing exams with flying colors and upgrading to their new classes.

Our Founder’s visit to YouMe School Biratnagar
A vision to build a school that imparts the best and most global educational experience for the students was a dream school of our founder, Mr. Sharad Chandra Rai. After years of studying and working in the education sector, he dreamt of bringing world-class education to his school that prepares students for the technologically advanced world.
His short visit comprised of presenting the ideas, planning and developing of the school. The renewed and rebranded model we are introducing will offer a highly progressive and inclusive educational environment. Mr. Rai had a fruitful discussion with the school’s staff about implementing the changes in the coming days.
Academic session ends
As we bid farewell to the year 2078 and enter the new beginnings of the 2079 Nepali year, our students sat for the final examination of this year. This is a mandated final examination to be eligible for the class upgrade of students. However, this year was also a year full of unprecedented circumstances caused by the Covid pandemic once again. Regardless of the daunting situations, we managed to end the academic session and organized the result distribution program that brought an end to this year pleasantly.
New Academic session begins
The first day of school always feels overwhelming and exciting. We can see the students with mixed feelings of being happy and confused at the same time. We welcomed our students for the new academic session on the 17th of April. As old students roaming around comfortably while new students adjusting to the new environment was really an exciting sight to behold.
The first lesson for Montessori students was dedicated to learning basics such as their name, favorite color, age and drawing. Our students entered the building by passing a thermal screening and sanitization process. Both parents and students are happy to be back to school.
Farewell Celebration
The adventure of a school life comes to a close and the next chapter of the student begins from hereon. Our school organized a small farewell party for the students of Class 10 before the final exams. Our students enjoyed their small celebration at school with teachers.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also held. Teachers and students shared a moment of reminiscing the old memories. The event was full of laughter, happiness, and melancholia. Nonetheless, we are so proud and overjoyed that our students made it this far. We would like to congratulate our all graduates and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We will miss them dearly.
